Recommended Wiring Harness for 2013 Mazda CX-9 with Factory Tow Package
Question:
2013 Mazda CX-9 with tow prep package. Our AWD mazda has the wiring harness already installed by Mazda, all I needed was a short pig tail with the proper flat 4 pin plug. Do you have that adapter? I am always finding verbiage for... The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # 56016 that you referenced is intended for the Mazda CX-9 without the factory tow prep package, as you noted. Right now the aftermarket makers of wiring harnesses, like Curt and Tow Ready, do not offer a kit for the 2015 CX-9 that has the factory tow prep. What do you have for Mazdas with the factory tow prep package? Need 3 foot 6pin to match photo attached to flat 4pin for trailer. Thanks

I do have a solution for you, however there is not a wiring harness currently available that is designed specifically to work with the factory tow package on your 2013 Mazda CX-9.
To install a 4-Way connector at the rear of the vehicle, I do recommend using the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # 56016 referenced in your question. This will be compatible with your vehicle even though it has the towing package. The T-connector will plug direclty into the existing ports behind the trim panels in the cargo area on the driver and passenger side. You will also need to run a hot lead to the car battery. I have attached an article that will help explain how to do this.
I have also included the installation details for this wiring harness for you to check out.
