How to Pick Out Brakes for 2004 Jayco 31BHS Trailer
Question:
I have a 2004 Jayco 31BHS. I am trying to find out what kind of brakes the trailer has. I have checked the axel tubes and do not see any kind of markers telling me what kind so i can try and find out the kind of breaks they are. The wheels are a 15inch 6 LUG with 3/4 inch lug nuts. Any help would be great.

I can help you find the right assemblies, but I do not know exactly which ones you have on your trailer.
To pick out the correct brake assemblies for your trailer you need to know a few things.
You will want to measure the inner diameter of your hub/drums and the depth of the drums to determine what brake assembly dimensions you need. For example the part # AKEBRK-35-SA is a 10 inch by 2-1/4 inch thick brake assembly.
You also want to determine what the bolt pattern is of your assembly mounting flange. The standard size is 4 on 4 inch. You also want to determine the axle capacity of your trailer and go with an assembly that has the same rating, the # AKEBRK-35-SA has a 3,500 lb capacity.
I also attached a help article that covers what is needed to add brakes to a trailer for you to check out as well.
