To add a 7-Way trailer connector to your 2011 Toyota Highlander, you will want to start with adding the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118449, that you have referenced, if the vehicle does not already have a 4-Way connector.

In order to have the 4-Way underneath the vehicle, you will need to find a grommet in the bottom of the cargo area, route the plug through it and out to the rear of the vehicle. Make sure to seal up any holes that you may have had to make to route the harness.

With the 4-Way at the back, you can then add 4 and 7 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7. The 4-Way plugs into the back of this harness leaving only 4 wires to hardwire. It comes with a mounting bracket and you can install it with the included self-tapping screws in a convenient location. I have included 2 FAQ articles and a video that explain how to install an ETBC7 kit.
