Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller in 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Im interested in buying the products Tekonsha PowerTrac Electronic Brake Controller - 1 to 2 Axles - Time Delayed - 39523 and T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector - 118349 .. I dont have a 7 way connector and was wondering if there are any for sale. I have a 1996 jeep Grand cherokee. Also, a tutorial on how to wire the brake controller to the 7way would be nice.

For your 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee the trailer wiring harness part # 118349 is the correct harness to start with to install a 7-way and brake controller in your vehicle. It provides the taillight functions that will transfer over to the 7-way adapter.

From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller # 39523. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.

I attached a set of install instructions and an install video that shows the kit installed in an almost similar Jeep vehicle as yours to give you the basic idea how it installs.
