Recommended Electric Winch for 8,500 Pound Boat

Question:

My boat is 8500lbs. I use rollers on my trailer. I currently own a RC30 power winch but it has quit so I need a new winch. Will your model DL25215 work for me? I am also concerned about the strap as opposed to a cable. I used a snatch block to pull my boat using the RC30 to make it easier on the winch. Is there any way to use a block or would your model be powerful enough without a block.

The Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch # DL25215 referenced in your question is a great choice to replace your RC30 on your boat trailer. This DC -powered electric winch has a load capacity of 3,000 pounds and is rated for boats that weigh up to 9,000 pounds. The spring-loaded clutch lever for releasing the load without power will automatically return to the locked position when released. A wire harness with a 25 foot positive battery wire and 8 foot ground wire is included.

This winch is specifically designed for heavier boats like yours and will have the necessary capacity for your 8,500 pound boat without the need of any additional parts.

I have attached the installation details as well as a short demonstration video on this product for you to check out.
