Is Surge Protection Needed When Changing From Incandescent to LED Lights?
Question:
When changing incandescent bulbs to LED bulbs or incandescent tail lights to LED tail lights, does any consideration need to be given to adding any kind of current limiting, fuses, surge protection, etc? I just remember years ago when 120 volt LEDs were coming to the market, they required some type of protection device installed, but this was years ago. Just double checking. Thanks

There is no need for any type of surge protection when making the switch to LED lights from incandescent. LED trailer lights, such as the Peterson # V944, are commonly being used to replace the less efficient incandescent lights.
