Question:

In order to determine the best weight distribution system for your towing setup, you will need to calculate the total tongue weight of your loaded ready to tow trailer and any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. To do this, I suggest you consider the etrailer Tongue Weight Scale 2,000-lb Capacity # e99044. This scale will allow for an easy and accurate reading each and every time you change the tongue weight of your towing setup.
If you find your total tongue weight to be around 1,000 lbs, then I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37120ET. The Equal-i-zer is one of our most popular weight distribution systems. Featuring an integrated 4-point sway control design and adjustable shank, this system is a top-of-the-line option. Rated for tongue weight capacities up to 1,200 lbs, the spring bars can easily be changed in order to compensate for heavier loads.
Another, more economical option to consider is our Fastway e2 part # FA92-00-1200. The Fastway e2 incorporates a 2-point sway control design with built-in adjustable head. Also included is an adjustable shank, proving to be a worthy second option. As it does not include a hitch ball, I recommend part # 19286 to pair with this system.
If you find your total tongue weight to be more than 1,200 lbs but less than 1,400 lbs then I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37140ET.
I have attached a weight distribution help article and the proper way to measure your total tongue weight in addition to a review of both weight distribution systems.
