Single Tank Regulator Recommendation for Trailer Setup that Uses Dual Tanks

Question:

Our trailer has two 30# tanks hooked up with a dual regulator. We rarely use one tank per summer. We would like to leave only one tank connected to trailer. Then we can use the second tank only for our gas grill. Do we need to cap off empty side of dual regulator or get a new single regulator for the trailer?

I would recommend going with a single regulator just so you don't have to ever worry about the capped off portion. Dual tank regulators are designed to switch off the empty tank when it's empty but a single tank regulator will be the better option if you plan to just use the one tank like the part # CAM59013.
