Given that your 2016 Ford F-250 is a 4x4 and has large tires on it there is a good chance that the shank included with Curt weight distribution system # C17501 doesn't have enough drop to tow your trailer level.

First we need to figure out how much drop (or rise if the trailer coupler is taller than the hitch receiver) is needed. With the truck and trailer on level ground but not hooked up to each other there are a couple of measurements needed. Measure from the ground to the top of the receiver opening on the trailer hitch. Then use the trailer jack to make the trailer level and measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler.

If the truck is taller the difference is the amount of drop you will need. If the trailer is taller the difference is the amount of rise you will need. The Curt shank that comes with the system offers 1/2 inch drop and 5-1/2 inch rise. Other shanks are available with more drop and rise such as # C17123 which offers 8-1/4 inches drop or 11-1/2 inches rise. Shanks cannot be swapped out of kits.
