Bolts Needed To Install Slipper Springs

Question:

Hello, What type of bolt is recommended for the slipper end of this slipper spring? I am using this on an ez loader boat trailer with a single axle. From your website the best I can find is #166079. I would use this for both the bushing end and the c hook slipper end. Is that recommended? Alternately I have #166081 shackle bolts that are 3inch long but seem to be long enough for my application. Could those be used as well? Thank you for your help!

For the spring eye you would use the Spring-Eye Bolt with Locknut for Slipper Springs - 3-1/2" Long # 166079, but slipper springs don't have the second spring eye, so a bolt is not used on the back end. You can also use a wet bolt like # 126B2, for less friction. The Shackle Bolt with Locknut for Double-Eye Springs - 3" Long # 166081 are for use with the spring and shackle straps used with a shackle straps on a tandem setup with an equalizer but it could be used for the springs and the hanger bolt.

For slipper springs you will want slipper spring hangers like # APS6SE. You will want to match your spring width.

If you have traditional spring hangers, you will want the 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,500-lb Trailer Axles - 26" Long # e27SR and the second bolt.
