The Optronics Tail Light # STL43RBX does not need a bracket for mounting. It has a built in flange and includes a rubber grommet.

The light can be connected using a 3-wire pigtail, # A45PB, or # A47PB for a right angle.

For what you are looking for a surface mount light like the part #STL43RBX would probably be a better option as it doesn't require a bracket and it does stick out a little bit.
