Trailer Brakes Lock Up Immediately When Trailer is Connected to Vehicle 7-Way
Question:
Hello. I rewired my trailer. Everything works except the brakes. When I hooked the wires up for the brakes locked up when I hooked up to my truck. I flipped them and still locked. What should I do?

You need to confirm your routed the brake lines to the proper pin on your trailer connector or you need to check the wiring on your vehicle side. The brake magnets can be wired either way, just one wire power and one wire ground. It sounds like there is a constant 12V coming from the brakes and that will lock up your electric brakes. There should only be a power signal to your brake magnets when the brake pedal is pressed. If that all checks out using an incandescent circuit tester like # PTW2993, then you will want to look into your brake controller. I've attached a couple of articles to help.
