Replacement Air Ride Fifth Wheel Trailer Pin Box Compatible with Gooseneck Hitch in 2015 Ram 2500
Question:
I would like to replace my kingpin, LIPP 1716 with something to cushion the towing of my 5th wheel. I see that you have both the Trailair and the 5th Airborne. I have also seen a kingpin replacement from MORryde. My hitch is a BandW companion slider and my truck is a Ram 2500 with 6 ft bed. Which, if any of these replacements, do you recommend, or is there another one that you prefer?

Unfortunately, you are not able to tow a fifth wheel trailer with an air cushioned pin box using a gooseneck to fifth wheel hitch adapter. Even thought the B&W Companion Slider # BWRVK3400 acts like a fifth wheel hitch it still install using the gooseneck hitch.
Instead you can replace your pin box with a Reese Goose Box # RP94716-61301. This is an air ride pin box that replaces your Lippert 1716 and connects to gooseneck hitch. The Goose Box uses an air bag and dual shock absorber to reduce chucking and jarring. It's also endorsed by Lippert, so it will not affect the warranty on your trailer like some gooseneck to fifth wheel adapters will.
