Fifth Wheel Hitch Adapter with B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch in 2016 Ram 3500 with 8 Foot Bed

Question:

So I have a 16 ram 3500 long bed diesel with the BandW turnover hitch already installed. I have my fifth wheel camper and probably buying a new one this summer. I was first thinking of getting the adapter but the way it sounds, this is the least safest and puts the most stress on the camper. I dont want to install rails in my bed either. So is this hitch just as reliable as having a normal fifth wheel? I will probably buy a 40ft toyhauler and in the mountains of Montana, the roads are always challenging. Thoughts?

The B&W Companion # BWRVK3500 is your best option. And it's actually a great option. You're right that a gooseneck to fifth wheel adapter will often put additional stress on a trailer. So much so that some trailer manufacturers will void the trailer's warranty if you're using one. However, this is rarely the case with the Companion since it's actually a fifth wheel hitch installed into the gooseneck. It actually reduces the stress on a fifth wheel and for that reason is probably the best gooseneck-fifth wheel combination on the market.
