Will 205/75-15 Tires Fit in Place of P195/65-15 Vehicle Tires Mounted on Trailer Wheels

Question:

I have P195/65R15 tires mounted on White 8 Spoke, 5 on 4 1/2 rims. Can I mount the Provider ST 205/75R15 TTWTRTM2057515C on the same rims? Bought trailer used with these passenger tires on it. I believe it needs regular trailer tires.

Helpful Expert Reply:

You are correct about using trailer tires. Trailer tires are constructed differently than passenger vehicle tires. Trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall to handle more vertical load. Vehicle tires are designed for turning axles and lateral forces.

The 205/75-15 trailer tires such as # TTWTRTM2057515C will fit on 15 x 5 to 15 x 6-1/2 inch wheels. Wheel width is measured on the inside where the tire sits bead seat to bead seat and not overall width. It sounds like you have trailer wheels so I am sure the tire will fit. I have linked a video review of this tire for you.
