How to Fix a Tear in Sewer Hose for RV

Question:

I tore my sewer hose almost in half at last dump station getting it out of its compartment on my 1965 Caravel. Is this part used to repair/connect two sewer hose sections?

The Valterra Flexible Sewer Coupler # F02-2103 that you mentioned is designed to convert from a flexible drain hose to a rigid pipe connection. What you will want to use is the Straight Drain Hose Coupler # F02-2025BK to connect the two ends of your 3 inch hose and the Stainless Steel Hose Clamps # H03-0009 so secure the hoses to the coupler.

Valterra also has a hose kit that they call the Dominator, pert # D04-0275, which features 20 feet of sewer hose that can collapse to 39 inches for easy storage. It includes two 10 foot hoses that can be connected together to extend to the 20 feet and the hold whatever position you want them to. Check out the video that I linked to the page for a demonstration of how it works.

Another possible option is the Viper Sewer Hose Kit # D04-0475 that Valterra offers. This hose, like the hose that I just mentioned, includes two 10 foot sections of hose that can be connected to form 20 feet of length. This kit can be collapsed into 50 inches for storage but it has a spring back crunch and puncture resistant feature which will help keep this hose working for a long time. I included a demonstration for this kit as well.

The coupler solution will work for your application, but I recommend either using the Dominator # D04-0275 for minimum storage space, or the Viper # D04-0475 for a very strong and durable design. These two hoses are very durable and collapse together so that you can easily get them out of your storage compartment without worrying about tearing your hose again.
