Will Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Fit Directly in Factory Prep Package on 2017 Ford F-250/F-350
Question:
I just want to make sure this Curt Q20 slider hitch works with the 2017 Ford aluminum bed with the factory puck system. I have heard stories about issues because of the aluminum bed or increased bed depth, and want to make sure there are no problems finding a hitch before I buy the truck. Also, since it is more difficult to find the truck I want with the puck system, I may buy a truck with no factory prep. Someone told me the rails will not be available until later this year. Is that correct?

Yes the Curt Q20 5th wheel trailer hitch # C16530-16020 is a direct fit to the factory prep puck system in the 2017 Ford Super Duty trucks.
Regarding the depth of the bed I assume you mean the height of the bed sides. The hitch is height adjustable from 17 to 21 inches measured from the top of bed corrugations to the top of the hitch. Also many 5th wheel pin boxes can be moved up and down where they mount for more adjustability.
If the steel of the hitch was in contact with the aluminum bed then you could experience galvanic corrosion. But this hitch mounts to the factory pucks and would have limited, if any, contact with the bed.
The under bed mount kits will become available for the 2017 Ford trucks in 2017. There isn't a definitive date just yet but they will be coming out.
