How to Carry Kayaks on Roof of 2012 Ford F-250 Crew Cab While Towing Fifth Wheel Trailer

Im preparing to purchase a rack system for 2 possibly an occasional 3rd 12-13 foot kayaks while towing our 5th wheel camper with our 2012 F250 crew cab. I like how versatile this goal post is, and it appears to be sturdier than the Thule, which will come in handy if I also use it as a truck bed extender. Im not finding a half-rack single rail roof rack that can be used in conjunction with this rack that is compatible with a crew cab. I will also have to purchase a hitch receiver for the front as well. What are my options for a single-rail? Are there other options that I have not mentioned? my truck is a long bed, so I have about 17 inches of minimal clearance between the cab and the camper, but even with the generous real estate on a crew cab, it appears that the kayaks will need to be mounted too far forward to just mount them on the roof, although Im sure that would be an option with shorter kayaks.

I think you have the right idea using a front mount hitch and the Erickson Big Bed Load Extender # EM07600-07601 on the front of your 2012 Ford F-250 Crew Cab.

For a front mount hitch I suggest using the Draw-Tite # 65049. The hitch has a vertical load capacity of 500 pounds which will be plenty for your kayaks. I've attached an install video for you too.

For a single crossbar roof rack you can use the Rhino-Rack Vortex consisting of:

59 inch Vortex Aero Crossbar # RRVA150B
2500 Series Legs # RRRLKVAH
Custom DK Fit Ki # DK190H

The 7290 that you see is a casting number. It is found on AL-KO hubs that fit #99 spindles. I found that the bearings used are #28580 which would be the inner bearing and #25580 which would be the outer bearing. For the seal use #91030.
