Changed Trailer Deck From Steel to Wood Now Tires Rub Fenders When Towing A Load
Question:
I have an 5x10 single axle utility trailer with the axle rating of 2000 pounds. I recently replaced the expanded metal deck of it with wood and am now having an issue of the fenders and tires rubbing when I have a load. The best fix I can think of is an over the axle conversion kit but am only able to find kits like 2 3/8 and likes that are for campers. Do you guys have a kit or can you put one together for me or anything like that? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We carry over-under conversion kits that fit both a 2-3/8 and 3 inch axles. However, we do not offer a kit that will fit a 2,000 lbs axle, but we can put together a conversion kit for you that will work with your axle.
You will need U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 2,000-lb, Round Trailer Axles, # APUBR-10 and 2 of Spring Seat, # TRSS175, for 2,000 lbs with 1-3/4 inch diameter.
You will place a spring seat on the top of the axle to provide a place for your leaf spring to sit. The new spring seat will need to be welded to the axle. They will give you a lift that will be approximately 2-5/16 inches. This number comes from the diameter of the axle plus the 9/16 of inch height of the spring seat will provide.
