I rinse my hangers and springs down really good after each use, yet they rust so fast. What can I do to make them last?

This may seem silly but if you spray a lubricant like WD40 on the metal surfaces after cleaning them the oil will inhibit the ability of the water to contact the metal. Similar to how keeping a bike chain lubricated allows it to prevent rust development.

But if you are dipping the trailer in salt water rust is basically inevitable.
