We can help you with base plates and the other items needed for safe and legal flat towing of your 2016 Nissan Versa with manual transmission. The linked articles will give you good background on each of the required items, which include the tow bar, safety cables, a wiring/lighting kit, a high/low hitch adapter and base plates and a braking system for the towed car.

Since you have a Roadmaster tow bar you'll be better off using their base plates; this avoids the need for adapters that add cost and unnecessary complexity to your towing set-up. I recommend their EZ5 kit # RM-52357-5 since it works with all Roadmaster motorhome-mounted tow bars (tow bars that slide into a hitch receiver on the rear of the motorhome). I am not familiar with a folding Roadmaster tow bar model called the Explorer. The most popular motorhome-mount tow bar for Versa owners is the Falcon 2, part # RM-520.

For safety cables I suggest the Roadmaster coiled cables # RM-643 which won't drag on the ground. For a lighting kit the easiest installation is a set of magnetic lights like # TL21RK which take only moments to install and which do not require you to cut into the car's wiring. For a braking system I suggest the portable and wireless Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. This proportional braking system slows the Versa at the same rate that the motorhome slows down which makes for a smoother driving experience.

For a hitch adapter you can refer to the linked article for help on selecting the correct one; you can use the linked page for such adapters to choose the right one to keep your tow bar level when connected to the MH and Versa.
