Hitch Recommendation for 2016 Chevy Equinox for Carrying Motorcycle Carrier
Question:
chevy equinox 2016 ltz 4 cylinder.....recommendation for a trailer hitch for the purpose of using a hitch mounted motorcycle carrier.....the vehicle and the motorcycle to be flat towed behind an rv........note, this will be only as a tow behind and the equinox will not be driven with the bike on the back....the motorcycle will be app 300 lbs/ wet and the carrier will be app 80 to 100 lbs....is this even a good idea? your opinion will help in this decision...thanks in advance.

For your 2016 Chevy Equinox we do have a hitch that would be rated high enough to carry a motorcycle and carrier if you also use a weight distribution system. The etrailer hitch part # e98865 is a fit for your vehicle and has a 400 lb tongue weight capacity when used with weight distribution.
Then for a motorcycle carrier the part # UF48-979033 would be a great option. It has a 500 lb capacity. I attached a review video for more info as well.
You would need to verify that your vehicle has the tongue weight capacity for the carrier as well. That info will be in the owner's manual or at a Chevy dealer. If you find that your Equinox does not have at least a 400 lb weight rating, which I suspect it doesn't, then you could easily use a small utility trailer with the # e98865 hitch instead.
