Installing a 4-Way to 6-Way Wiring Adapter for Flat Towing a Toyota Corolla with a 1999 Safari Trek
Question:
I have a 1999 safari trek with a 4 pin connector and have just purchased a 2009 toyota corolla dinghey, manual shift, with a six pin connector. Which part do I need to make the connection? Thanks.

You will need to start with a 4-way to 6-way adapter # A10-6034VP to make this connection. You'll also need to ground the white wire to the vehicle frame on a clean/rust free surface or ideally run the ground wire to your negative battery terminal using # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot). The black wire will need to be routed under your 1999 Safari Trek, if your Toyota Corolla has a battery charge wire coming from the 6-pin connector. The black wire is used for 12 volt power and will need to be attached to the positive battery terminal by way of a 40 amp circuit breaker # PK54540.
If you need to run the black wire, I suggest using duplex wire # 10-2-1 (sold by the foot) and run it together with the white ground wire to your battery. The blue wire can be capped off and stowed away since it is not needed for your application.
