Three Items I have 2016 Jeep 2016 CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK best Tow base plate with the least cutting of fascia for breakaway and and base-plate install. RV is a 42 ft 2008 Allegro Bus and for the tow vehicle should I go with air brakes system or a wireless system. and I want a toaded battery charger hookup to rv Keeps Your Towed Vehicle Battery Fully charged.

For your 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk I recommend the Blue OX Base Plate Kit # BX1136. All base plates for your Cherokee will require about the same amount of trimming. I've attached a video of the install on a 2015 Cherokee you may find helpful. You should know that your vehicle may have Mortorq fasteners that require a special bit from Snap-On to remove.

I recommend going with the SMI Air Force One # SM99243 for your supplemental braking system. The wireless systems will work but you will have better brake reaction if you tie the system directly into the air brakes on your RV.

For your wiring, the Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Flexo-Coil Kit # RM-15267 will connect the RV to the Jeep and installs a 6-way connector on the front of it. Then use # 10-1-1 to connect from the center pin on the back of the 6-way on the Jeep to its battery to prevent it from draining. This will not fully charge a dead battery, but it will maintain the battery so the Cherokee will be drivable after towing. The # 10-1-1 is 10-gauge wire sold by the foot. You'll also need the Brake-Lite Relay # RM-88400 to keep the Jeep's lights from overriding the RV's.

If you don't already have a tow bar the Blue Ox Alpha # BX7380 will work great with the base plates I recommend. The Alpha comes with safety cables. If you already have a tow bar, and need safety cables # RM-643 are great.

Finally, chances are you'll need a high-low adapter to keep the ride level. You want to keep the rise and drop within 3 inches of level for safe towing. I've attached our selection of high-low adapters for you to select from.

There are a number of videos and articles to help you decide and install everything you'll need to safely tow our Jeep.

If your Cherokee has 4 wheel drive or the Activedrive 2 system, to maintain the vehicle's stable steering while being flat towed you will also want to install the Mopar accessory kit 68321424AB, available from your Jeep dealer. This kit will prevent the Cherokee's steering from shaking while being flat towed.
