Pole Tongue Adapter For Use with a Weight Distribtuion Hitch on a Swing Tongue Boat Trailer
Question:
F150 with 11,400 towing capacity. I have a swing tongue boat trailer with electric brakes. Total weight loaded is 9000#’s and the tongue weight is close to 1000#’s. Was looking at a weight distribution hitch and this pole tongue adapter part RP58393 but the video said it is not for swing tongue trailers. Any suggestions on what I would use? Thanks

It is not a good idea to use weight distribution with a folding tongue due to the amount of force applied by the spring bars to the trailer. The pole tongue adapter like the Reese item # RP58393 has a note on the product page saying not to use weight distribution systems with swing arms.
