Do You Have Sway Control For a Pole Tongue Boat Trailer

Question:

I am looking for sway control for a small boat trailer with a pole tongue. The trailer is small but I tow behind an 18 RV and get sway. All sway controls seem to be for A frame. Any ideas?

There is a reason for your sway problem. You may have too little tongue weight for the boat trailer to be stable behind the RV. If the boat is lightweight and the engine is on the back this can cause the tongue weight to be reduced and this will cause the sway problem you are experiencing.

I would try adding some weight to the front of the boat or trailer and see if this does not help with your problem. Be sure not to exceed the tongue weight rating of the lowest rated part in the system either the trailer, ballmount, ball, hitch or the vehicle.

In order to use sway control with a pole tongue trailer you will need to use a pole tongue adapter, # RP58393, with a Reese SC weight distribution system. I have included a link to the SC systems for you. I have also linked our help articles on determining tongue weight and weight distribution for you.
