Recommended Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System
Question:
I was looking into ordering the Fastway E2 load and sway hitch system and I was wondering if there is a weight difference between the FA94-00-0800 and the FA94-00-0600? My trailer is a 420 tongue weight with a 5500 gross weight. But if I ever get a heavier trailer, I wanted to make sure I dont have to buy another leveling system if at all possible. Shipping weight says 80 lbs on both. Can you help me with the actual weight? Thank you much!

The actual weight of either Fastway e2 # FA94-00-0800 or the # FA94-00-0600 systems is approximately 80 lbs. I contacted the manufacturer and they said that either option is 85 lbs packaged and approximately 80 lbs outside the box.
Based on the tongue weight you offered, my opinion is the 800 lb system would put you in the middle range for total tongue weight once you include tow vehicle cargo weight behind the rear axle. That is the sweet spot for your current trailer and allows you a little room if you were to move to a slightly heavier trailer in the future. The 1000 lb system, # FA94-00-1000, will also work for your set-up and allow you even more room on top end weight, but it will have a slightly more ridged ride for your current trailer. I believe the # FA94-00-0600 is too small to meet your needs if we assume that your tongue weight spec is the dry tongue weight.
I personally would recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control because I like the trunnion bars over the round bars. It allows you a little more ground clearance too. That system is part # FA92-00-0800. This option will be about 10 lbs heavier.
You'll also need a hitch ball like # A-90.
