Determine if 2014 Dodge Journey has LED or Incandescent Taillights for Trailer Hitch and Wiring
Question:
i took my rear lens cover and i see 1 amber colored bulb and above it a small electric plug with no bulb visible. how do i determine if i have led or not my manual doesnt list it i looked at my sticker that was on the window and no mention of led lights... need to know which wiring kit tot order for mu 2014 dodge journey crossroad going with the curt 13201 class3 hitch thank you

Easiest way to tell is to watch the lights illuminate. If they come on immediately with basically zero transition between off and on and are almost painful to look at you have LEDs. If you can watch the bulb get brighter and looking at the light doesn't hurt your eyes you would have incandescents.
Also if the bulb is round and has that old school style of wiring in it where there is two vertical wires and a couple horizontal wires that run between them that is incandescent.
For a hitch fit the Draw Tite part # 75648 or Curt # C13201 is a fit for either configuration and would be a great choice as it is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch opening.
For trailer wiring the part # 118536 would the be the kit to use if you have LEDs and part # 118567 for if you have incandescents.
