Yes, you can use a Tow Ready Adjustable Tow Bar, 5,000 lbs, part # 63180, to tow your 1991 Honda Civic. Just keep in mind that this tow bar is rated for towing speeds of 45 miles per hour or less.

A better tow bar option would be the RoadMaster Tracker Tow Bar, # RM-020, which is designed for towing long distances and more frequently. With this tow bar you will need a set of Quick Disconnects, # RM-201, to easily connect and disconnect the tow bar from the base plates.

You will also need a few other items to complete your towing setup.

In order to connect the tow bar to your 1991 Honda Civic you need a base plate kit like the Roadmaster Tow Bars for the Honda Civic, 1991, part # 508-1, and a Roadmaster Base Plate to Tow Ready Tow Bar Adapter, part # RM-025.

You will need a light system that allows your vehicle to signal for turns and stops. The most economical light system to use for turn signals and brake lights on your Civic while it is being towed would be the Magnetic Towing Light Kit, part # RM-2120. These lights use magnets to attach to the rear of your Civic and attach to a 4 way adapter at the rear of your towing vehicle.

Another lighting option for you would be a Tail Light Isolating Diode System with Wiring Harness, part # 38955. Once installed, this system would utilize your vehicles tail lights as blinkers and brake lights.

You may need a 7 way to 4 way adapter if you towing vehicle is not equipped with a 4-Way trailer wire, such as a Pollak 7 Pole to 4 Pole Connector Adapter, part # PK12716.

Next, you will need a set of RoadMaster 64 inch Single Hook, Straight Safety Cables, part # RM-645. These are needed as a safety precaution, just in case your tow bar failed.

If you wanted a braking system that would help preserve the braking system on your towing vehicle I would recommend the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Proportional Braking System, part # RM-9400. The reason I recommend you use this brake system is because, it installs easily, and it brakes proportionately with your tow vehicle, so there will be less wear and tear on your tow vehicles braking system.

You should also consult the manufacturers recommendations on your tow vehicle to be sure your tow vehicle has the towing capacity to pull your Civic. You should also check the manufacturers recommendations for towing your Civic.
