12-Volt Accessory Power Feed on 7-Way Trailer Connector Not Working on 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD
Question:
I just installed one of your brake controller on my 2006 silverado 2500HD diesel. The truck has the factory tow package with the factory 7 way. I plan on pulling a camper and I need to get power to the hot 12v at the plug to charge the battery on camper. Is there a fuse or a wire I need to hook up?

If you aren't getting power on that connector pin on the 7 way, take a look at the power distribution box under the hood. Once you remove the cover, you will see two posts on the side of the box closest to the motor. The post closest to the front should have a wire attached to it. Near the post, there should be a 40 amp fuse in place to fuse the circuit.
Take a look at the FAQ article I've linked for you. In step 'F' shows the location of the post and the fuse that I'm talking about. Make sure the fuse is inserted and is not blown, and make sure the wire is attached, and your 12V feed should work.
