Installing a Brake Controller on a 2014 Jeep Cherokee without Factory Tow Package

I seen on other sites where the controller plug is but on mine the grey plastic holder is there but no plug. now what? dont know how to take pictures! Im old

It sounds like your 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude did not come with a factory tow package. That would be why that housing is empty. Or it could be that you have found a different connector and not the one for a brake controller. I have included some pictures that show the location and the plug itself.
If the Cherokee did not come with a factory 7-Way trailer connector at the back then the brake controller will have to be hardwired in. First you would install a 4-Way wiring harness, # 118605. Then you would use installation kit # ETBC7 to add the 7-Way and wire in a brake controller such as # 90195.
I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 installation for you. It is a different Jeep in the video but all ETBC7 installations are the same (with very few exceptions).
