Recommended Ways to Fix 7-Way Wiring that Was Damaged While Towing
Question:
On our maiden voyage with an 2012 Arctic Fox, the 7 conductor cable for our trailers rear lights was evidently dragging on the ground for a good portion of the 700 mile trip, The outer insulation was frayed enough to expose some of the colored wires inside. Four of the copper braided wires were either badly damaged or severed completely. The access panel under the trailer looks like the type that once off will never go back. However, if I do remove it, am I likely to see something I can work with nice connectors after buying a new cable Bargman make the old one ? Should I attempt to splice the damaged wires in order to move the trailer. About 3inch of the cable sheathing was exposed. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

What you would want to do is splice in either new wires individually for the ones damaged on your 7-way wiring or splice in a jacketed 7-way bundle part # DW04914-1 which is sold by the foot.
Or if you wanted to replace the 7-way at where the wiring was damaged you could wire the part # H20046 instead. The chart I attached is for splicing this connector in.
