will a 2-1/2inch long shank work with this hitch #c45458 such as BWHB94004?

The 2-1/2 inch shank length on B&W ball # BWHB94004 might be just a bit too short for ball mount # C45458. The recommended ball, # C40008, has a shank length of 2-3/4 inches. Basically the shank has to be long enough for the nut to thread all the way on with about 3 or more threads sticking out past the bottom of the nut.
