Why Would Integrated Brake Controller of 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500HD Have Been Bypassed
Question:
I recently purchased a 2015 3500 HD LTZ 4X4 that was previously owned. The last owner installed a Tekonsha controller that has no identifying numbers as for the model. I think its going to be electric over hydraulic. What Im curious about is when this was installed why was the IGBS on the truck disabled? and Did this disable the exhaust break function too? How do I remove this and go back to the IGBS?

I believe you meant to type ITBC that stands for integrated trailer brake controller. This is what your 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500 would have had. The ITBC gets bypassed pretty frequently on the Chevy trucks especially if the trailer being towed has electric over hydraulic brakes. The ITBC notoriously does not like to be used with EOH trailers.
Most likely you have a Prodigy P2 part # 90885 as that is the most common one swapped in.
Your tow/haul mode and engine brake components would not have been affected. I attached a help article that covers more on the ITBC bypass as well.
