Will Titan BrakeRite EHB Adapter Work With Factory Brake Controller On 2012 Dodge Ram Truck

Question:

Will the Titan EHB actuator work with the 2012 dodge integrated brake controller?

We have a tech bulletin that says the factory integrated brake controller cannot be used with an actuator. It is to be used only with electric brakes.

What most customers do is remove the factory brake controller and replace it with a new one like part # 90885. This is our best selling controller because it is easy to install and operate. You do need to return the truck to the dealer and have them reset the computer after removing the factory controller.

I have what appears to be this system on my trailer. I bought it used. Disk brakes replaced electric. It has the Ford/Chevy actuator installed. I have a 2018 ram 3500 with factory controller set to electric over hydraulic. The trailer is a Landmark 365 42’ fifth wheel 20k max weight. I have pulled this trailer for 7000 miles plus and it seems to work. Can you advise if this is compatible with Ram trucks? The problem I seem to have is the front brakes sometimes lock up one side more than the other. Does this sound look like a compatibility issue or something more like the system just needs to be bled or other? Please advise. It appears the line goes to the left side where it splits to those tires and runs to other side. Not centered. Not sure if that matters.

That sounds like an individual brake issue to me. You can check the line as well as the brake itself to make sure everything is up and running like it needs to be. Usually the main hydraulic brake line runs down one side of the trailer so what you described sounds normal as far as that goes. The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR will work with your 2018 Ram 3500 and since you have the OEM controller you'll just need the adapter # 331-TPH-020.
