Looking to add a 7 pin round harness and connector to a 2014 Ram 1500 that does not have a factory installed harness and connector already installed.

You should be able to find a round connector at the end of a wiring bundle behind the rear bumper of your 2014 Ram 1500. That would connect to the part # HM40975 which will give you a functional 7-way.
If you need to activate the brakes of a trailer you instead would need the # ETBC7 which comes with the same 7-way adapter but also comes with the needed wiring and components to wire in a brake controller.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.
If you have the factory 7-way wiring and used the # HM40975 you would only need the install harness part # 3023-P.
