How Does the Curt Stabilization Strap Work for a Curt Hitch and 1998 Ford Expedition
Question:
Hello, When it says 2inch hitch does that mean inside opening of hitch is 2inch to receive a bike rack or motorcycle carrier ? Curt states load must be supported ? Do they mean tie down web belts to hold load or support for the carrier ? If the carrier needs suppoort how is that accomplished ? Thank you

When you see 2 inch hitch or 1-1/4 inch hitch it is referring to the opening size of the receiver. Curt trailer hitch # C13125 does indeed have a 2 inch receiver for your 1998 Ford Expedition.
On some Curt hitches, Curt requires the use of stabilization strap # 18050 for any load that is not a trailer such as a bike rack or cargo carrier. Curt is the only manufacturer that has this requirement for their warranty. While it is a bit of a hassle, it is a great safety measure so I would recommend it anyways.
I have linked a video showing examples of how the stabilization strap can be used.
