Recommended Weight Distribution System for my Travel Trailer

Question:

I have a 2011 Ford F 150 and a 2011 17foot CasitaSD Travel Trailer with a 365 TW and 3500 wet and packed travel trailer. I have been doing fine without a WDH and have a sway bar and 2 inch ball. On back roads and dip roads there is some bounce and I am thinking of adding a WDH. Would a WDH level the ride and stop the bounce? Would it give me better control? What set up do you recommend?

A weight distribution system will lift the weight off your rear axle and distribute the weight to the front of your truck, which will help reduce bounce and sag when towing. When choosing a weight distribution system, it is key to know your trailer's loaded and ready to tow tongue weight. To this tongue weight you will need to add the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle in the bed of your 2011 Ford F-150. Once you know the loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer, it will be easier to choose a properly rated weight distribution system.

Most people can carry between 0-200 lbs. behind their rear axle which could bring your tongue weight up to 565 lbs. I recommend weight distribution systems that are compatible with 600 lbs. tongue weight for your towing set up.

I recommend the Equal-I-zer Weight Distribution System with Sway Control 6,000 lbs. GTW and 600 lbs. TW # EQ37060ET. I recommend this system over the Pro Series because it is easier to install and the anti-sway system is updated. You also do not have to worry about drilling into the frame during the installation process with this system like you do with the Pro Series system. A shank is also included with this kit but you will need the Thin Walled Socket for Equal-I-zer Hitches # EQ70-00-4800 to install it.

I attached installation instructions for both weight distribution systems and I have attached a review video for the Equal-I-zer Weight Distribution System you may want to check out. I also attached some help articles on how to determine tongue weight and an article answering common weight distribution questions you may find helpful as well.
