Recommended Weight Distribution System for a Jayco Eagle HT 284bhok

Question:

Looking for WD/sway hitch recommendation for the above trailer. Dry hitch weight is 1080lb and GVWR is 9995lb. Assuming 15 puts me in the 1500lb TW range if totally loaded, but Im uncertain any potential issues with too big a system either. I like the equalizer versions, but not sure their beefier most appropriate model. Thanks!

What you really want to do when choosing a weight distribution system is try to get as choose to the middle of the systems capacity as possible. The typical tongue weight of a trailer will be anywhere from 10% to 15% of the total weight of the trailer.

With that being said, I do suggest going with the Equal-i-zer # EQ64FR. This will have the minimum tongue weight of 1,200 pounds and the maximum tongue weight of 1,600 pounds. I should not that with the minimum tongue weight being 1,200 pounds, you will need to load the trailer a little front heavy if you are closer to the 10% tongue weight.
