2011 GMC Sierra Factory Brake Controller Not Working with Titan BrakeRite Even with Adapter
Question:
Hello, I purchased the brake kit and GM adapter to use on my 2011 GMC Sierra HD and boat trailer. The controller does not appear to be working. The trailer lights work and the pump activates when I pull the break away switch. I do not get a trailer connectedinch message on the trucks dashboard. I do get the message when I connect the truck to my cargo trailer with electric brakes. So Im sure that the trucks ITBC is fine. Should there be continuity between the blue input wire on the controller and the blue output wire that connects to the pump ?

You may need to adjust the output setting on the factory brake controller on your 2011 GMC Sierra HD. I also assume that the adapter you are using is # T4845900 which is the correct model to plug in with the Titan BrakeRite I Plug and Play Electric-Hydraulic Actuator Kit # 4813102.
You will need to check all of your connections. It is possible that a dirty or corroded trailer connector is preventing a good connection. Make sure that all connectors on the vehicle and trailer are clean and free of corrosion inside, where the wires attach, and outside on the pins.

I'm having weak brakes with my Titan T4835700 and I did install the T4845900 for my 2011 GMC. They did work fine for a month and now weak, but in a reverse downslop with no boat on the trailer when i hit the brakes the wheels lock up. So they system is working slightly. The boat is 6000 lbs on a twin axle alum. trailer. I had the GMC brake assist set to 8.5 when working and when I hook up the trailer connection cord the pump gives a little click like its connected.....HELP, Thank You
