Wheel/Tire Recommendation to Increase Size Slightly from a 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire and Wheel

Question:

I might switch out my 10inch wide pontoon boat trailer for this tire and rim combo. The total tire high on my old set are 18.5inch high. You have the same wheel tier combo on the site on item AM3H490 however I never ordered a e tire. do we know the total time height on these tires. I have 3 inch to spare under the wheel wells on current trailer. Looking to put a taller tier on my pontoon boat so I do not blow tires.

If you had a wheel and tire like the part # AM3H490 on your trailer which is a 205/65-10 on a 10 inch rim with a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern the tire # AM10140 and wheel # LH45FR would fit in place of it and would be right at .9 of an inch taller. That would reduce your current fender well clearance by about 1/2 inch.

Both the tire # AM10140 and the wheel # LH45FR have a weight capacity of 1,520 lbs at 80 psi which you would need to determine if that would be enough for the weight of your trailer and boat.

Typically trailer tire blow outs are due to improper tire inflation (got to keep them inflated to their max rating at all times!), excessive speed since most tires are only rated for 65 MPH, or overloading. This tire, the # AM10140 has an M speed rating of 81 mph.
