What Bearing Number Starts with L44 and has Inner Diameter of 1.06 inches

Question:

Hello, I am replacing the bearings in a friends trailer. I removed the old ones and the part number is mostly worn off I can make out L44..., I measured the I.D. on the bearing and it was 1-1/16inch I measured the O.D. on the axle and it is 1.03. Everything I read online says the O.D. of the axle should be 1.06 His tires are pitting and wearing unevenly. Could this be a correlation since the bearings arent fitting snug or are these 2 separate issues or non-issues? Thanks for all your help.

Sounds like the bearing you pulled off is the part # L44649 as it starts with the same letters as what you listed and because it has an inner diameter of 1.063 inches.

There isn't a standard spindle diameter that is 1.03 inches. Most likely his is actually 1.06 or his spindle has worn and is in need of being replaced. The latter is more likely as typically spindles don't wear down to be smaller in diameter.

What you described sounds more like a worn out suspension component such as an equalizer or shackle than bearing related.
