Is there a 7-Way to 5-Way Flat Adapter that as the 5th Pin for Electric Trailer Brakes
Question:
I have a 2011 f150 limited with a 7 blade tow adapter but the problem is that I have a 1992 21 ft. Ranger bass boat with a 5 flat for the trailer brakes is there an adapter that I can use and still have my electric brakes to work on the boat trailer??

Helpful Expert Reply:
The 5-Way flat on most boat trailers goes to an electric reverse lockout on a surge coupler (hydraulic brakes) so the adapters are set up that way. What I recommend is to replace the trailer side connector with a 7-Way such as # A7WCB which is going to cost less than an adapter anyway and you will be able to place the wires at the proper pins so that the electric brakes will work. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
