When used with non-trailer loads like bike racks you need to support the hitch with a stabilizing strap # 18050 available from Curt in order to maintain your hitch warranty. You can avoid this requirement and still keep the same 525-lb tongue weight capacity by instead using Draw-Tite # 76138.
