Parts Needed to Mount 7-Way Connector and Run Power Wire to Vehicle Side Connector

Question:

Do you make an angled bracket for mounting a round towing pigtail under a car such as a Corolla? I am unable to find on site, but I think you have one available. It is a 6 prong plug with a pin in the center. Also, can I run a hot wire somehow from the tow vehicle to that plug to keep power to the trailer when attached? Which wire on pigtail would I be using if this is possible? Thanks

It sounds like you have a 7-Way blade-style connector at the back of your Corolla. We offer several mounting bracket options to secure a 7-Way connector like you referenced under your vehicle. The most popular bracket is the Mounting Bracket and Installation Hardware # 18138. I have attached a review video of this bracket for you.

You can certainly connect your vehicle's 7-Way to the vehicle battery in order to provide a maintenance charge to the trailer battery while you are towing.

To run the power wire, you will want to use:
10 gauge wire # 10-1-1, sold by the foot
1 - 40 amp fuse # 9510
2 - Ring Terminal 3/16 Ring ID # 44-5310A
2 - Ring Terminal 5/16 Ring ID # 44-5356A

You will want to ensure the connector is wired correctly by function. The attached photo will help you determine where to connect to the power wire on your vehicle's trailer connector. As long as you have a standard 7-Way connector, the power wire should be located in the 1 o'clock position on the front of the socket.
