B and W Companion Hitch Recommendation for 2015 Ram 2500 Towing Trailer with Reese Revolution

Question:

Im looking to tow a 5th wheel with a 2015 Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi Megacab 4X4, 6.4 short bed with factory 5th wheel tow option installed. Having a short bed Im considering the Reese Revolution 90 inbox as a dealer installed option. My concern with some of the setups Im reading about here are the amount of chucking and shaking with the revolution. One setup specifically is the Reese Revolution Pinbox paired with either a Reese RP30918 or BandW BWRVK3600 Companion hitch. I read there can be a large amount of instability with these setups and would like some advice. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A properly set up Reese Revolution/Sidewinder (they are the same thing), would not be a setup that would be prone to chucking. Especially with either of the two hitches you referenced, # RP30918 and # BWRVK3600.

These hitches are amount the nicest on the market, especially the Companion. We get several questions about chucking and movement/noise in fifth wheel hitch setups and this is the first time it has been related to a Revolution. The Revolution/Sidewinders are God's gift to towing fifth wheel trailers with a short bed truck. While that may be a bit exaggerated...they are the best way to tow a trailer with a short bed truck as they do not require getting in and out of your truck every time you enter or leave a parking lot to activate a slider.

I would highly recommend the Revolution with the Companion # BWRVK3600 which will call for the wedge part # SWW-06. If you choose the Reese # RP30918 you'll need the wedge kit # RP44FR.
