The carriage bolts that come with the Curt hitch part # C11158 are M8-1.25 X 40mm CL10.9.

The carriage bolts you are referring to that go through the rails and bed of the truck are grade 5. You do not want to use hardware that is rated any lower than this. The correct hardware is part of what gives the installation kit the weight capacity…
