7-Way Blade Style to 6-Way Round Trailer Connector Adapter
Question:
Hi, I am ready to order this item SPL30B-6, however the cord is a few feet too short and I need an extension. The extension cord needs to be a male 6 pole to male 7 blades. I was looking at the following items: Hopkins Wiring - HM47083 and HM47085 The first one says it requires the center pole on the trailer side to be for 12 volts power and second one requires the center pole on the trailer side to be for brake function. Could you please tell me what the center pole is for on the item #SPL30B-6 So I can order the correct extension? Since I have an adaptor, a male 6 pole to female 6 pole extension would work as well. couldnt find one on the site though. could you please send me a part# if you have one? 3 feet minimum length

The magnetic tow lights # SPL30B-6 only have stop, tail, and turn signal functions so the 12 volt circuit and brake output circuit won't even be used. So basically it does not matter if the center pin on the adapter is brakes or power. Also, the 6-Way on the tow lights can be opened up so you can change around the wire configuration if needed.
Extension # HM47083 is an excellent choice as is # HM47085. I have linked a video review of the latter.
