RV Bike Rack For Camper Trailer to Fit Around Spare Tire
Question:
I am interested in the Swagman 2 bike rack, The distance from the center of the hitch pin back far enough to clear the spare tire is 18. Seems like the rack has just a square tube of steel with a hole in it. Isnt it possible to purchase a square tube of sufficient length for this.

18 inches from the center of a hitch pin hole to out and around a spare is a pretty large distance. The only bike rack solution I have for that would be the RV Bumper 2 Bike Rack for Around the Spare Tire # S80501 that is designed to fit around a spare like in the picture I attached.
I also attached a review video that shows it being installed and demoed as well.
Hitch extenders like you mentioned aren't great solutions since they add quite a bit of movement and leverage to the accessory in the hitch. They also reduce the capacity of the hitch they are used on by 50%. Since RV applications typically have much rougher ride qualities they aren't generally recommended.
