Adapters to Allow Gooseneck Hitch to Tow 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

My truck doesnt have the turn over ball. It has the plate in the floor that you rotate the ball out from under the bed. Can the companion hitch hook up to this style?

The B&W Companion gooseneck to 5th wheel hitch adapter # BWRVK3500 fits only B&W's own gooseneck hitch/installation kits like # BWGNRK1057. These accept a square shank gooseneck hitch ball or the square shank Companion 5th wheel hitch adapter. If you have a gooseneck hitch like the Draw-Tite Remov-A-Ball # 6300-4454 then the B&W Companion will not work for you.

However we do offer other ways to pull a 5th wheel with a gooseneck hitch. There are several types of adapters offered and these vary in design, cost and in how much stress they will put on the trailer's frame. Some of these adapters could potentially void a trailer's frame warranty so before selecting one check with your trailer manufacturer.

The linked article will explain the types of adapters offered and the benefits and drawbacks of each.
The best option is to replace the trailer's pin box with a Reese Goose Box such as # RP85FR which fits in place of the popular Lippert 1621, 1621HD and 0719. The Goose Box is a direct bolt-on replacement pin box that will put NO additional stress at all on your trailer frame. It directly couples to the goose neck ball in your bed.

The article also details the other types of adapters that will allow a gooseneck hitch to pull a 5th wheel trailer. All of these other types will put some degree of additional stress on the trailer frame.

Please feel free to let me know your truck year/make/model/version and your trailer's weight and pin box number and I will be glad to recommend a suitable option for your budget.
